I much prefer my classic to my 101b that it originally was pre Classic mod but I've really liked lots of your 101b clips. You might wanna just try running it like a mv plexi and run some pedals for a change of pace. I love running my '70 fuzz or tube driver into the plexi mode and just zoning out. It's like a completely different amp that way. And then when you eventually wanna come back to the xtc blue and red channels they'll be there.
Agreed...
hey, yngzaklynch... There is a nice Bogner XTC Classic for cheap $$ on here for sale, If you already like the 101B, I feel you will love the Classic... much more Marshally and has more tooth to it.
Just a touch less gain but still LOTS enuff, and the 'touch sensitivity/responsiveness' outshines any 101B in my opinion...
Ok, lastly, Try the 101B with the tone controls 'wide open'. I know... it's unorthodox, but just give it a shot... (maybe you already have) Presence at around 2 o'clock or more and bass-mid-treb wide open...
I talked my friend outta selling his last month as he said it didn't have enough "life" to it anymore.
It's funny that I never used to try "extreme" settings with amps, now I try everything!
Good luck, Bro-yngzaklynch!
