Does anybody know a fix for the problem with the parameter wheels acting up?

I know it's a common issue with many G-Majors, that the outer parameter wheels almost acts like a scratchy pot. It scrolls through the parameters but it randomly jumps around a lot making it difficult to use. Very annoying!

Just wondered if anyone has fixed the problem on theirs and if it was an easy fix?

I tried Googling it, because I saw a fix for it months ago, but no luck :(

It wasn`t that easy, it included removing the front plate, and spraying both the inner and outer part of the potmeter.

It didn`t look very hard, though, and you`ve opened up more electrical equipment than me :D

Haha! Well i'm fine with opening it all up and repairing it, just wasn't sure if there was an obvious easy fix though :D

I also remember seeing a fix for it some time ago, but after googling tonight i cant find anything on it!

Knut, you are a star!!

Thanks for the link

ABSOLUTELY no problem, Dan.
I have one myself that really needs the same treatment. It`s not too obvious yet, but I`m guessing a little more dust now, and I`ll have to do it too :)

Yeah I'm sure it's just dust and dirt getting into the pot that causes the problem!

I'm actually selling mine to a friend, since it was lying around not being used. But wanted to service it and make sure it was 110% working before i shipped it to him!

I'll post back tomorrow and let you know how it goes! :)

I had to replace the reluctor rings on mine. not a job for the faint at heart, but with the right equipment, (solder sucker, wick and 24 watt iron) I got through it and it works like new. Purchased the 2 new reluctors from one of TC's distributors, they were about 70 bucks shipped as I recall. The tricky part was the switch in the middle of the ring.

Good luck

Success!!

It took less than 5 minutes to do the job, super easy to do and works perfect now! No more jumpy scroll wheels :)

The only thing that was fiddly was spraying the contact cleaner into the pots, you need a really fine straw attached to the spray, to be able to do it without it getting messy. Other than that, it's all good!!
