TC G-System

Sorry if this has been discuseed, searched but I couldn't find what I was looking for...

Just ordered a TC G-System. I have the M4 and new MOD50 (sitting very lonely by itself) with modules for all. Will I be able to run both via the GS? And get all 6 modules/12 channels? Tell me it's true

Currently running M4 -> Rocktron Xpression -> Peavey 50/50.

Like to get rid of xpression and Peavey and go with GS and M4/MOD50. Also have 2 pedals I like - old TS-9, and Keeley modded sd-1.

Is there any info already here about this?

Love my Egnaters!

Sure, try the Mod50 in the insert send and return and the M4 in Loop 4 send and return. Try switchng them and see which sounds better in which loop. I use an ebtech line level shifter for my MOD50 in the insert send and return. Love the combination of the MOD50 and G-system and I've been wanting an M4 to the mix as well.

I have a G sys, Mod50 and 2 M4s. I use a GCX switcher for the Mod50 and 2 M4s so all 10 modules go through the Mod50 power section. I think if you used the insert loop in the front of the M4 and after the Mod50 before going into the power section that it might work. It might be better with a GCX/GCP. Dont bother asking TC Electronics because if you do get a reply back in 3 days they wont really understand what you are asking. Are you using the G sys for your foot controller?

Hey are you the guy from Myspace?

With the G system, can I run an M4. A pre amp out of a head, choose to run my fx in series or parallel. and back into the pwr amp in of the head. and do all my switching from the Gsystem?

I think it still requires a loop swtcher. Unless you can run the tc before the m4 and after mod50 preamp. Send(series)to insert tc out tc to m4 in m4 out to mod return guitar input of tc tc out L to front of amp. But I'm not really sure about that. Should ask mr. Bruce Egnater or Dave Friedman, they helped me with my setup.

I've been thinking about getting a G-System for practice use w/ my Mod50. Have a pedalboard with it, a wah, a sparkle drive and that's probably it. Maybe my EVH phaser too. That way I could get rid of my 2-space rack.

But, we'll see :)

The G-System can switch between modules/module channels in one Egnater amp on it's own though, right?

That it can do no problem.

Hey Jamie - yep that's me.

Just did order the G Sys from music 123 - had a birthday coupon for 20% off and they had a couple blems so it was reasonable, and I was going to use the G sys as my foot controller.
Tired of the xpression/midi mate - Frank tried to get me to buy the G Sys back when I first got the M4, but I went the cheaper route...
Now that I have the MOD50 too, I'd like to find a reasonable solution to use both (for 12 channels!!), rather than just going with the MOD50 alone.
My biggest concern is (and the reason I bought the MOD50) it has to stay somewhat 'back friendly'. Was hoping that it would just replace the xpression in my rack, I'd loose the big, heavy ass PV 50/50 and use the MOD50, and viola! I have better FX and lighter rack! It gets moved around every night of every weekend. I see some of those refrigerator racks you guys got going on  and my back says "whooooa there, don't even think about it"

So it looked like the G Sys would be an answer, but now I'm not sure. It would've served 2 purposes, the fx are far superior to the the xpression and then I could run both, but...
Again, I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible...if that's possible

With the G-System you will be able to use the preamp section of the MOD50 in one loop and the M4 in another with the MOD50 as the power section. You will be able to program it to switch channels and toggle from the MOD50 to the M4.

It will not be simple plug and play and will require some of experimenting with loop levels and possibly a line level shifter like the ebtech and impedance matching can be done cheaply with a Radial dragster.

Sure a more complex dedicated switching system may be more ideal but all can be accomplished with the G-System with a little patience.
