my buddy though, still uses his gmajor 1, and loves it.
sometimes knowing and being familiar with the functionality of something older, that sounds great, is also a weapon over guys that stand there with their back to the crowd all night turning fucking knobs and adjusting goddmaned parameters.
id say, simply, get what you can justify paying for...or, get what you've budgeted for.
regarding gear over the past 5 years, i've avoided a TON of impulse buying by breaking down my needs, wants and must haves about something (and avoided the "everyone else says this is great" caveats too, save for a few trusted friends)
and i usually always end up either not purchasing, or settling for what meets my needs, rather than my "always wanted".
granted, it seems miserly, but, in the end, i dont usually go to bed obsessing over gear and guitars and wiring and shit, i never did. i value functionality, and the smile on my face at the end of the day.
sorry for the soapbox!
i still WANT a fortin amp...something about the voicing on those speaks to me...and a mark v..and a suhr modern....and a.........................
hahahaha!!!
