I recently acquired a TC Mini Vortex for my rehearsal board. It was used - but in very good to excellent condition. When it arrived, it had a weird issue that I’m wondering if anyone else on the forum has run into with any TC pedals. When you plug it in and turn it on, it sounded like you’d expect a ‘normal’ flanger to sound. But if you so much as touched any of the knobs to adjust speed, depth or feedback, the pedal would immediately go into a strange, ugly, ‘warbly’ effect like a super-fast Leslie tremolo sound. I am very familiar with Toneprint - so I beamed a fresh ‘default’ Toneprint to the pedal and it sounded normal again - until you moved a knob, and then it was right back to a weird warbly mess. I googled this and found a few threads on other forums where users ran into similar problems with TC pedals and ended up returning them. The seller immediately authorized a return and forwarded a prepaid shilling label. So I’m not out anything. But, I was really digging the sound - when it was working. I have used several TC pedals and never had this problem. Wondering if this is just a fluke, or if anyone knows what this is and if there is a fix???
