Have any of you tried/used the Eldred mod for single pup tele?
What did/do you think?

Picked up a tele parts caster a couple months ago and have a “thing” for single pup guitars.

So yanking the neck pup and rewiring, just looking for some opinions from those who have used it…

I really like the sound of taking the tone pot out of the circuit but I find the “fixed” cap sounds to be largely useless. I’m sure with a lot of trial and error I can find one I like but I haven’t yet

Thanks man, appreciate your time!
I think Id be lost without a tone pot.

Always fiddling with the knobs. More volume, less tone. Less volume, more tone...
The madness never ends!

If I didn't have the second knob, my hand would feel lost, lol

Switching to the first position and taking out the tone pot helps for a slight "lead boost" which I like.
not really the quintessential "tele" tone but you can hear a little added grit after my little chromatic run when switching from position 2 to 1

I'd stick something like a 'lil '59 in the bridge, add a 5 way "super or mega" switch and have split, series/parallel too. And a mini toggle between the volume and tone could be a phase flip (of one coil at least) for another sound.

I am a Tele player and for the style of things I play (usually a very bright Fender tone) that tone knob gets more use than my volume knob.

Good times, sounds great!
What amp are you using?

Yeah I am all over the tone knob too!
Especially because that is my go to clean tone.
As in my SG doesn't clean up as nicely as the tele, but such a wide variety of tone out of the tele makes it a great guitar to have in the hands.

Ive used the Duncan lil 59 in a couple single coil guitars. Actually one strat and one other tele.
I really dont want to go that route.
Id like to stick with it being a single.
