My screen name there is Tommy the Kat. Someone posted in my for-sale ad saying they'd buy the pedal. A scammer saw that and sent them a message as Tommy the_Kat and got taken for $350 via PayPal F&F. Looks like they caught it in time and were able to get their money back.

I reported the scam also to TGP.

My account got shut down.

I can't get anyone to respond from TGP

You wanna play in the mudhole you're gonna get dirt on you.

This is the third thread in two weeks with guys upset at the way TGP operates. So I guess that means do like everyone else does and go create another account and go back to your abusive boyfriend instead of kicking him to the curb like you should. I don't understand why people patronize that dump. *shrugs

If something like that happens here the member can contact admin, who usually checks with the mods to be sure everything is kosher and then one of us reinstates him.

Surely you can contact admin there bro'?

when I got permabanned from TGP, there was no recourse. Couldn't log in to see why I was banned or contact anyone to discuss the ban.

I survived and thrived without it just fine. Too many snowflakes in that safespace IMO.

This reminds me of TGP

:ROFLMAO:

That happened to someone else here.
That site is a living breeding computer virus cesspool.

Frankly I'm surprised. Is there not a contact-form option, which in the case of RT goes directly to admin?

It's been many years, but I don't remember seeing a way to contact, if there was I'd have contacted them, and if I did I never got a response.

TGP is owned by a company that owns a lot of the gear forums.

The way things were going I’m glad mods and admin here didn’t sell out to that company and I’m also glad they have a pair and are willing to listen and execute on security ideas. We have free classifieds and less BS because of it.

I also don’t have to deal with a fear of scammers because jokes on them - I’ll never pay to allow posting in any classifieds to sell anything there. If I can’t move it here or on marketplace I go to reverb with better protections than TGP which is saying something.

I've had so many flawless transactions with Fiesta that I always check his current listings anytime I'm looking for anything before hitting any of the online retailers. Especially for kick-ass boutique or hard to find pickups that you'd love to try in a particular guitar.
