For making the Herbert! After owning a 5150, XXX, Dual Rec, JCM800 2203, JCM800 2203ZW, Vetta II, Flextone II, Krank Revolution, and a few others I can't remember, and trying everything else under the sun, I thought i would NEVER find a tone that just blew me away.
...until my Diezel arrived last week.
I've spent a bit of time playing it at home at moderate levels and thought it was pretty cool, THEN I finally got to take it to band practice and let it get cranked up and breathe...oh my God. It just sounds UNREAL. I was just tweaking it, standing there and ripping it up. Time was just passing, next thing you know I kind of stopped and fell out of my daze and turned around to all 5 of my other bandmates, who are usually blabbing and toying with their gear, just sitting quietly across the room looking at the amp. The bassist was first to speak and said "that is the best distortion i have ever fucking heard in my entire life" and everyone else just chimed in stating the same.
It may sound REALLY gay but I don't care, I was so happy driving home from practice I almost teared up. All my friends laugh cause I buy SO much gear and rotate it out, with each purchase I'm always quoted as saying "no dude, THIS is going to be the one!! This is the shit" then I play it and always end up dissapointed.
Not with the Herbert. It's just unreal.
Thanks so much Peter for taking the time to create this masterpiece of a head.
Now my bassist keeps asking me when the Lucy is going to be available to the public...anyone??
