Greetings. Just wanted to say hello to everyone here on Rig Talk: Egnater.

I'm Nick - the OTHER guitar player in Matt's (EWSEthan) illustrious rock band, The Dance Floor Remix.

At long last, I've decided to come to the dark side... I want me an Egnater Mod50.

I realize that it's probably not going to happen for a while because of the current supply and demand status for Mod50s, but just knowing that someday, our band will have a glorious backline of dual Mod50 rigs is making me downright giddy. I've been talking about it non stop all day. I've called Matt 5 times today and he's already yelling at me telling me to calm down.

Anyway. Whatsup guys. Expect to see alot of me around here.

PS: PLEASE forgive the horrific screen name - it's what I've been using over on TGP and its my AIM name since the beginning of time...

In the words of Lloyd Dobler AKA "The Keymaster": YOU MUST CHILL! YOU MUST CHILL!

Dude, seriously you are killing me. How am I supposed to get any work done today with you calling me 10000x and posting at Rig-Talk about Eggy GAS?!? I mean really?!?

Not to mention Im having a COD GAS Attack of my own thanks to Eric.

Guys, pay no attention to this guy.... After all he's only the "OTHER" guitar player in the band anyway... Plus, he currently plays Bogner, so what does he know...

PS - Nick, your avatar is seriously missing something behind you. Please reference my avatar for appropriate suggestions.

Totally agree. Who wants to play a Bogner :). Bruce and Jeff rock!!! I have since ended my search for the elusive tone I've been looking for, for years!!!

  +1!!!!Hey Matt it's on the way.........again  Hope it cures some gas for the time being

The only thing I hate about Egnater is that I used to have this desire to fill my room up with all the great amps - JTM45, Plexi SL100, JCM800, Deluxe Reverb, Twin Reverb, Tweed Bassman, Dual Rec, AC30........Now I have an M4, and I can't find any reason to buy that other junk.....no reason at all.......Maybe I could just buy some empty shells with fake faceplates to stack up my walls!

Haha I totally know what you mean. Aside from a few choice vintage pieces, if I had all the money in the world to spend on gear, i'd just buy more Egnater stuff. :D

So if Matt uses a Bman and SL2, what are Nicks Modules going to be? VX & Erect? The SL2 and Erect together make for some thick rhythm crunch.

I totally hear you there man. I have owned about 100 amps in the last 10 years. Now I buy modules :). It's so much nicer!!! My wife loves it because I take up MUCH less room in our house w/ guitar gear ;).

Maybe we both could get the stuff like the guitar center nearest to me has on their walls. They have this wall mount stuff that looks like a BIG ASS marshall full stack (think 3-d wall paper), a bunch of fender, mesa boogie, etc. amps in the backround being their "wall of guitars".

I'm going thru this phase right now, where I'm realzing that I don't want to be a gear "collector" at all. I want to downsize, but upgrade.

I recently did this with my guitar collection. Sold off a vintage 68 Firebird, a Les Paul Jr, and a Gibson ES135... all great, but for me, just not useable on a regular basis. I built myself a custom Warmoth super Tele, and it covers ALL bases, plays like a dream, sounds amazing, and is one of a kind.

Downsized and upgraded my guitars. Now with an Egnater, I'll be doing the same thing with amps. I've just lost patience for amps that sound good but have some "quirks". I don't want quirky anymore. I want versatile and 110% useability and 1,000% tone.

That's the dilemma right now. I LOVE the Bman and SL2 modules...

Matt said he *might* use the Erect module live to compliment me, but we'll see. I plan on loading my Mod50 with some EL34s as of now, but not totally sure about that. But if I did, that would provide some tonal contrast, even if we did use the same modules.

Something about the regular old SL just seems tempting to me though. Not sure if it has enough gain though. Or should I say, I fear that Matt might kick me out of the band for not using enough gain...

Welcome to the pack RockStarNick, and the wonderful world of M.A.S.

(module acquisition syndrome)

Gotta catch 'em all!

Nick is too much of a tonal redcoat so you wont see any non-british tones in his MOD 50! I might use either E-Rect or EG5 live once he gets his, we'll see how it goes. We've been double tracking rhythm parts for our demo using SL2 and E-Rect and loving how it sounds so that may be the way to go.

Its funny, I was just thinking about the Vx before. I dont think Nick really liked it when I had one, but on paper it is THE module for him for cleans and mid gain since he likes a little more dirt on his cleans than I do. And a Vx would compliment my BMan really nicely.

So, we'll see how it goes. Im not worried though! It all sounds great and changing it up just requires a quick module change. Ah, the beauty of the mod series.

also it makes it easier to be able to collect them all if you have a buddy to help! Lucky bastards!

My friend came over today to check out the new Mod50. We were both in a band together in highschool and now that we've finished undergrad we're looking to start a new band. He said he may not have the scratch for a mod50 now, but now he can't wait to try out the Rebel! Looks like I will hopefully be joining this little brotherhood too!

All I'm going to say is that if Nick ends up with an Egnater before me, I'm gonna bust a cap.
