Of the few delay and reverb stomp boxes that I've tried they all sound like ass in front of an amp when the amp's gain is up. I'm looking for a delay and reverb to put in front of my Univalve. Any suggestions?

what have you tried so far? how much and what type verb and delay do you wanna hear?

As for what type of verb and delay...that will vary depending on the song. Normally I just use a 250 to 300 ms delay and a splash of reverb on my leads.

Reverb and delay sound better in a loop. Reverb I have come to find just an't be used in front of an amp especially with gain. Sounds like some surf guitar. You can get away with delay in the front, but the loop is where it's at. Your Univalve has no loop correct ? Does it have a line out ?

I'd check out a Marshall Reflector Reverb pedal...it actually sounds pretty good and isn't too expensive. Seems pretty quiet.amiller":2b70muko said:

Alot of guys like the EH deluxe memory man too. I had good luck with that older Danelectro light purple delay pedal. Not one of the mini plastic, full sized metal one.
And yeah, you could use your reverb & delay between the line out and another clean amp too, but then you're adding extra gear too.

Yeah, the Univalve doesn't have a loop and I don't want to add another amp.
