I know he has a lot of amazing vintage stuff.... but the logo placement on that 1st goldtop almost looks fake to me, and the story on that red "58" LesPaul sounds bogus too.

Unfortunately, the positive influence that Satriani had on him didn’t last long

His playing was more interesting on the earlier albums. Still, I'd trade what I'm doing now to be a mediocre member of a mega band if I could, and I'd probably have a ton of gear.

It seems like he got complacent and has just been coasting since the late 80s. I don't think the impact of the Lars/James dynamic was limited to just Jason. It seems like it was a fairly controlling relationship all around. Things may have been fairly oppressive for Kirk too.
