The Dan Torres Mid Boost and Scoop Mod

It's VERY cool, and you should try it. No batteries needed.

Back in the early 90's my buddy took over Dan's shop in San Mateo and sometimes on my days off I'd hang out with him and learn stuff. The shop closed at 6PM, so at 5PM we'd put on the "Return of The Hellecasters" CD and crank it up. It's a blazing chops fest of a record and just plain FUN to listen to. You need to hear it.
This record is a masterclass. John Jorgenson, Will Ray and Jerry Donahue go to rip city on that CD and level everything in sight.

Often times when my friend was repairing a Peavey...a lot of them weren't the most service friendly...he'd say "Thank you, Hartley!" dripping with sarcasm.

Lots of good memories and I'm sure some brain damage too from all the solder fumes. LOL

i remember that guy...he sold all kinds of mod kits. i bought from him once and got a box full of parts, no directions, nothing labeled, and the questions i emailed him got ignored.

Yup, same experience. That Hellecasters album is fun tho

I don't think Dan had a great track record in terms of overall customer experience, lol. I reached out to him in the mid-90s about a mod for my Carvin X100. I didn't end up doing it, but I seem to remember getting a catalog from him after that which was a bunch of photocopied pages stapled together. Seems like he had a lot of offerings, but nothing I was really interested in.
