I'm still amazed by this amp daily. I know I flirted with the idea of off-loading it for a smaller rig but jesus, what a mistake that would have been. This thing sounds utterly unreal. My guitars and this amp offer me all the tones I desire except perhaps a spanky country tone that screams for a Tele bridge pickup, but hey, you can't quite have it all. What a total beast of an amp.

Diezel = win.

Hey another "I love Eini" thread.
Let's start genuflecting :D :D :D

Try the Schmidt and you will be finished.....I promise. Whatever "other" tones you seek are somehow in that magic little amp and life as you once knew it will be forever changed....seriously....lol.

Einstein and Schmidt might well make a killer duo.

Random,
I'm glad you decided to NOT sell this one. Like I had posted in a few other forums I really thought you would have been unhappy even though your other alternative would have been more compact. There is just no way to get the deep bottom end that the Einstein has with anything else. It took alot for me to go back to a head, but I was just too blown away by the hugeness of the power section in the Diezel. No matter what power amp I used with any combo of tubes, nuthin' sounded as good. Believe me, I wasnt looking to add anymore weight to my rig, but the pros absolutley outweighed the cons in this case.

That's exactly it. I know I've probably said this before but I really feel like I've found my number 1 amp. That's the reality of it and why I couldn't offload it. So a smaller rig, whatever it might be, is smaller... so what, ya know? The Axe-FX might be great but the thought of selling my favourite amp for a computer was just ridiculous. I really hope this amps stays for good. I need to learn the art of adding to what I have!

Speaking of adding to what you have, thats pretty much exactly what I did. I love the Axefx and for so many things nothing can really compare to it in versatility. My problem was that no matter what I did I just couldnt dial out those upper freqs. that made it sound a tad bit S.S. It was The cleans for me where the Fractal unit was a winner every time, though. So I decided to use my Switchblade and run everything thru that. Now I have the Einstein for my main rythym sound {channel 3 of mode 1} and when I want that clean over the top sparkle tone I go thru the Axefx and bypass the Einstein pre using only the power section. Now I have all the things I really dig with the Axe clean in conjunction with the Diezels huge, tight bottom end. Throw in the fact the the Einstein seems to take effects very well and the combo of the two is pretty awesome! Just something to think about to make your rig a bit bigger.

great amp! one of my favs for sure!! i used it a shit ton on the recording of my instrumental record

I utterly agree :-) Stunning amp it is, ah...records just amazingly easy.

@Van Hellion - Andy, how do you find it to work with your Suhr guitar? I am thinking on plunging on one, but still on Basswood+Maple top or Mahogany+Maple top (both with Maple+Pau Ferro neck most probably) dilemma, because Einstein sounds great both with my LP and a few basswoods that I have (for that matter it sounds great with everything). Leaning towards basswood+maple since I feel it will work good for solo work/definition/attack etc....but..erghhh....choices...

you guys will hear the combination soon enough, when my solo cd comes out. for what its worth my moderns are mahogony neck and body maple top and pau ferro fretboard. sounds amazing!

Got any rough clips of it yet? :D

Yep, I've decided to sell my Mark IV to fund getting one. I've already gotten a rear-loaded NYC 4x12 from Brad. Sounds killer!

This is so true! One thing I love about this amp is that it's completely removed my desire to buy any other amp. I solved the smaller rig thing and I bought a good combo and I take that with me to smaller gigs, etc.

but....there is no substitute for ze'Diezel.
:D

I don't know man, if you can carry a combo, you can definitely carry an Einstein and a 2x12.

Now, if you have no car and need to use the metro, then I can see getting an Axe Fx or even a Pod and plug straight into the P.A.
