I played a gig tonight where I got to really turn up my Mod 50. Man those TS 6500 really like to be punished. My clean and dirty tones from the DXL and SL were stellar. I may look into an attenuator. While the master volume is great it's not the same as lighting up the power tubes. A friend who plays in another band told me that this was the best tone he's ever heard from me and I've owned a vintage 64 Vox AC30/6, Matchless DC30, Komet 60, BF Fender, TopHat King Royale, Dr.Z's, Kendrick ect.

What attenuator do you guys recommend for the Mod 50? I only need to shave off a few db's for some of the smaller clubs.

Ear plugs   The TS 6550s kill in that amp and yes it does sound killer cranked

The attenuator most liked on here seems to be the Faulstine or however it is spelled. Pete Thorn did a demo with several amps, was posted on the site but I think its from youtube. THEY ARE PRICEY ...$900ish

I have a THD and it works great with my Marshall or Mesa MK III but sucks with the Bogners. I dont remember if I had it on my Mod50/100s, if I did it must of been ok because I dont remember.

my buddy uses the Weber mass lite's with pretty good luck for his amps, including a Rebel 30.

Dude, you got me thinking about those damn GCB cables........

Sorry about the GAS   The Sommer Grindycop Beast cables are awesome. I could send you mine to try for a few days.

Hey man, thanks for the offer!! No need for now but I'll certainly let you know!! Appreciate it man.

Hi,

what I can say is, that I had the same experience with my M4 and RT2/50: I wasn't impressed by the bedroom-level sound, but as soon I as I played at higher volumes (more than you could do in your flat), the sound was awsome and one of the best sounds I had ever.
Not only the Mod50 likes to be loud.
