I think your strategy is sound...... More knobs and switches, indeed!!Onzabar":bvc6gxsm said:Thanks for the questions and lead on the eBay Cameron. I have received a few PMs so far and am still on the hunt for the ideal amp. The perfect example would be a tricked out 70's or 80's mod Marshall with the Aldrich and/or Jose mods as my two top options, although I would not rule out the Ocean mod. More switches and knobs are also preferred. I have cash in hand and am ready to buy once the right amp comes along. Feel free to email me pictures and details of any Cams you would like to sell. My email address is onzabar@cox.net. Thanks.

There's something to be said with that.... as long as you can get away with kinda rig/set-up for the music you play, I agree, less can be more.Khoi":3j8kzrb3 said:Onzabar":3j8kzrb3 said:Thanks for the questions and lead on the eBay Cameron. As great as options are, I've found the more features and hoo-hah, the more it degrades the tone. My single channel Cameron Marshall was absolutely amazing. Just straight high gain Jose with 2 inputs, no special knobs added. I had a switchable 2 channel one and it just wasn't as great, but it was still really good

Should cost you a lot less in the long run. Figure $1000 for the amp and let's say $700 for the mods. That gets you to $1,700. Most Camerons are going to cost you $2,700. I would also have suggested Mike Fortin, but Mike isn't taking any more mod work right now...but then again, you could always send it over to Dan in the UK
Well, I haven't tried out a Marsha yet, but the clips are killer... The "Kitchen Sink" modded Marshalls are pretty G.Damn aggressive (well, at least mine can be) and Dave also has another mod... it's the "APC"... Axe him about it... It is even more aggressive and "modern" sounding...Onzabar":2sismgrq said:Thanks for the replies. I recently picked up a Marsha and agree that Dave Friedman makes a kick ass amp! I am looking for something to compliment its tones with some more modern aggressiveness. Would a Cameron Aldrich mod fit the bill? I wonder if Dave could create something comparable?
