Hi All,
I am a brand new Egnater user, specifically the Tweaker head and 1 by 12 cabinet.
I have been on an amp ‘Quest’ for the last 10 years. I am mostly a Fender and Vox guy, and over this time I have tried most of the amps that they offer.
I am a firm believer that the guitar amp is as much of an instrument, as the guitar itself. And the magic combination of a great Guitar, a cable, and a Great amp = Tonal bliss. It’s this kind of combination that grows you as a player, engaging you to play more and develop.
So here I am 3 weeks into my first Egnater amp, and I am completely blown away by the quality of the tone, the versatility of the controls, and the almost 3D quality of sound that is being projected from this amp. I was initially concerned in that I have always been a Reverb guy, and need tube analogue reverb, which is probably why I have stayed in the Fender and Vox camp most of my 26 years of playing, but in this case the natural tube tome from this amp is so detailed and touch responsive, and the amp is so quiet, I am not missing the reverb at all.
I simply cannot find a bad sound in this amp. I can create a great Fender Deluxe clean and breakup, at very user friendly volumes, as well as that famous Vox sparkle, and all out Marshall Crunch all at useable home volumes. They are correct in the manual to slowly increase the gain, as there is way more gain in this amp than I would ever need. Especially when you get the Power tubes clipping.
I would like to start a ‘users club’ to discuss this wonderful amp, so that we can share settings, configurations, tube changes etc. I am sure that this amp will be a huge success, and it will spawn other models in the ‘Tweaker line’.
So Jump on in and let’s get busy discussing this great new amp!!
P.S On a side note Bruce, any chance we can have our own forum on the Egnater web site? I think that there is a huge value for both the end user and the manufacturer to facilitate a forum, to build engagement and give the manufacturer valuable feedback to develop future products. I think the forum would be a lot more 'active' if it was on the host web site.
