Finally got around to weighing my Les Pauls. It was always interesting for me to see in forsale ads people post the weight of their Les Pauls. You don't see this with Strats, teles, SGs, etc typically. I just don't see threads like, 'My Ibanez RG.... weights too damn much'

My guess was that the LP custom would weigh the most and the LP studio the least. My scale rounds to the nearest pound, so hence the range.

Here are the results:
'95 Gibson Les Paul Studio Rosewood neck -- 8-9lbs
'73 Gibson Les Paul Custom -- 9-10lbs
'04 Gibson Les Paul Standard LE Ebony neck -- 11lbs

So anyway, post the weight of your Les Pauls (please include model and year). Clones are welcome too. Very curious to see what the heaviest and lightest LP's we have on the forum....

91 Gibson Les Paul Standard 10.9 lbs
95 Gibson Les Paul Standard 9.8 lbs
no wonder my back hurts

Haven’t weighed mine

But my LP ZW Custom is BY FAR the heaviest LP I’ve ever picked up

My G0 is 9.7lbs
Chambered LP Classic is 7.5lbs

I found the LP customs to be the heaviest ever!

'78 Custom 9 lbs (I have to take pics)

2002 R8 8.4 lbs
2002 R8 9.0 lbs
1956 Custom 8.9 lbs

My LP Classic was ~11 lbs. It was a 2003 or something. I wasn't a fan of the huge weight and tone of the guitar, so I sold it.

I don't have one anymore unfortunately but I have a good story about the subject.

My local luthier told me that back in the 70's a guy came to him with his Les Paul and asked him to route the back of the guitar and fill it with lead. Apparently back then the philosophy was the heavier the guitar, the better it would sustain. Of course he took the job and of course it was a monumental failure. I would love to put that badboy on a scale though.
