I've got the Extra Slinky 8-38 on my strat type axe

String tension always felt extra high on that guitar for some reason

The older I get the thicker my (Guitar) strings get. Right now I am using Slinkys.

Those would be OK for G-standard tuning, but the 7 might often snap.

My ideal for E tuning would be 9-44, but I don't currently have any at E.

So, I have 10-50 Thomastik sets on my walnut topped one since it’s inception, and 10-52 Daddario on the other guitar, which will be replaced to that same caliber, because 52 sounded boomier than I like. Both in E standart 25,5”

But I was adviced to go thinner for the sake of clarity. I couldn’t decide which set to choose, so sticked to those 10-50 for now, probably will try a 9-46 or something like that sooner or later.

Ernie Ball 10's on all my axes ..... 7's eh ?? ..... gonna be like dental floss .....

11’s on very low tuned guitars of any scale length

10’s on E or Eb standard tuning PRS and Gibson scale guitars

9’s on E and Eb strats and teles

8’s on the YJM Strat
