I am riunning my MOD50 through my Diezel 4x12r (v30's...rear loaded) and an starting to think I may went something different.

The Diezel is very BIG sounding with loads of tight bottom end and pretty smooth everything else.

I am starting to think I want something with a bit less bottom and more neutral overall tone.

The only speakers I have experience with are:

V30's....love them

gt75's...in general hate them, but liked them in my Uberkab and love a Marshall cab with 75's with a Powerball

VHT p-50's...Love them with VHT's and hate them with just abot everything else.

I don't play at gig volume very often, but do get to goose the amps a bit.

I am considering an Avatar Vintage with some combination of speakers....or 4 of the same.

My main style of music is METAL   , but I do jam the blues and like nice cleans sometimes.

So...any suggestions? If you suggest some speakers other than the above, please let me know about them and why you reccomend.

Thanks a lot!

Seriously, you need to try the WGS CL-80's.

They've changed my life.

They sound smooth and thick in any cab. They are NEVER harsh. They sound sweet as candy for cleans too.

I use them in an avatar standard 2x12 and a Mesa oversize 4x12. (I never liked oversized for anything until I got these speakers)

+1 I think I love the CL-80....Did I just say that? :D

Ya I am now leaning toward it being my favorite!

So how close are the WGS BL-80 and the Celestion CL-80?

Have you given any thought to the Eggie 112 with the CL80?? It's very cool. Sounds huge, yet smooth and rockin' or bluesin'. Excellent cab.

I've got one of them :D I love it!!!!!!

I dont know... those  metal  guys like their 4x12s!

How about a VHT Fatbottom or a Bogner Uberkab? But since you say you want something more neutral, maybe Im stating the obvious, but what about an Egnater 4x12??? Or the Tourmaster 4x12, which is onsale at GC apparently...

I have a couple of Warehouse CL-80 clones if anyone is interested!

I just don't like CL-80's. Not enough bite for me. But this comes from a guy who loves his G12T75's :).

I do like the WGS V30 clones. They thoroughly rock in my Avatar 2x12.

That's a good deal on Ruso's cab! Man, if I hadn't been spending stupid $$ lately, I'd pick that bad boy up!!

If you want the 412, I'd go with the Eggie cab from GC on sale.

I didn't like the CL80 too much at first, but now it's really breaking in nicely and sounds great!!

me too man. i'll tell you, the avatar 2x12's that i have do the trick though man. i've had 2-3 of them over the past 4-5 years, and I absolutely love them man. I pretty well exclusively have Warehouse speakers in them too. 1 - 2x12 w/ the Vintage 30 clones (closed back), and another 2x12 w/ the Alnico Blues (open back). I do use my rigs w/ my 4x12 oversized Marshall w/ t75's which sounds friggin awesome!!!

If you are sticking with the 412, the Weber 1225's with Pre Rola doping are killer speakers. Sound like old Greenie's but they also rock hard as well.
