Needing something that I can practice and record at home with, take to rehearsal and will hold it's own at smaller venues/clubs. Should play nice with pedals, which it looks like the GF45 does really well. Have that gorgeous clean, slightly broken up and a nice searing lead tone. Am I crazy, or does the Bogner Goldfinger 45 offer these elements in a convenient package and with heaps of tone?
Thanks for any thoughts on the matter.

I have the GF90 because I love an amp with 4 EL34s. But even with the higher output power section, it still has all the elements you seek. It has half power, and low voltage options which make for good home use. Not to mention a very friendly master volume. The Goldfinger is definitely an amp packed with Tone!

Cool! So I take it you're recommending the GF90 over the 45? How does it sound at the lower output stages? Does it still retain quality tone? I would imagine since it's a Bogner that the tones stay very good even at lower outputs.

Ive never played the GF45, but I imagine its quite similar to the 90. I tend to favor amps with bigger power sections, thats just me. The thing about the Goldfinger is its master volume. It has a Really wide sweep so its very easy to manage at home. The tones at lower power settings are still awesome, mostly it just changes the feel of the amp and the tightness.
Of course since the GF is a vintage style amp, its really best to get those power tubes cooking and involved in the tone, which is probably why Bogner designed that master volume to be pushed to its higher ranges.

Thanks! Seems either way you can't lose. How you guys feel about the Bogner Cabs? I'm sure they're excellent as well.

Seems that 2x12 w the diagonal speaker setup is pretty cool. 1 greenback and 1 G12h. Super cool.

Im pretty sure that its widely agreed that Bogner makes some of the absolute best cabinets out there. I prefer 4x12 cabs, but many people swear by the Bogner 2x12 oversized cab. Ive never tried the Goldfinger 2x12, it looks like a great pairing for the GF!

I have had a Shiva 20th and a G45. Both are great amps. If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with the Goldfinger. The clean channel is more complex and the drive channel is very versatile. Hard to go wrong with either.
