don't seem to care for Diezel amps. :gethim:
https://www.thegearpage.net/board/showth ... p?t=784218

I tried to state why I liked them, but they don't like anyone who doesn't share their idea of anything.

Everyone there talks about Dumbles and Train Wrecks. What makes them so high falooting?
Does that mean they are living in the past?!

I have learned not to trust anything I read from those who doesn't like Peter's work.

Lets be fair, they all have dumbles and train wrecks so they know what they are talking about
Dont worry about this. Different styles, different tastes.

That you like something doesnt mean someone else has to like it. I love diezel amps but its the internet, peeps will always bash things. I know alot off people havent played Diezels and burry its name

Example
Everyone on TGP and HCAF talks bad about the Engl powerball. I used to play with my littlebrother, also a guitarst and a friend who drums. He would bring his powerball and i would bring the herbert. The powerball always sounded amazing. Others i know also use a powerball and could not use anything else and swear by it.

You have to know the sweet spots in the eq with every amp. Eq youre amps so they compliment each other. Often people on the boards forget that.

C4 i understand you but dont let them get to you, keep

I had to post a reply

I made a decision a long time ago to not let forums decide what amp I play. I do get interested in amps based on forums, but I have recently learned my lesson about straying away from the Herbert. It was a little costly adventure and a lesson well learned for me.

I would not stray either, except to go from one Diezel to another.

I find it funny how some people comment on an amp without spending much time with it. The funniest is the guy who claims to have played the Herbert.....yet he owns a Matchless....a completely opposite amp for the style played. So, what exactly was he looking for? He knew what the Herbert represents. Give me a break.

I have to admit, I've tried the XTC and like it. Would I trade it for my Herbert....not a chance. There is just too much good going on in my amp and I love the tone from it.

Sterile is not what any Diezel is. People need to stop listening what a few people (idiots!) have judged in the past and use their own ears. These amps are amazing pieces of machinery to help us get that sound we are looking for. I was in a major studio working on a sound score over the summer on a weekly basis with my Herbert and the sound engineer and producer just couldn't get over the amazing tone they got consistently from my amp to disc. That made my life easier as well and certainly opens the doors for future work for me.

I didn't get that from my Marshall JVM when I tried to use it last year.

dude, I couldn't help but posting on that d-bag loaded forum as well....FUCK them.

I threw up a bunch of better-sounding clips and it seems people have nothing else to say...

i had to chime in over there as well. i dont see how they dont find Peters amps awesome? i mean i feel like the diezels have a slammin sound and they are crazy versatile as well.

Andy,
I have found that the TGP forum/amps section as well as other sections there have a collection of players who think they know the last word on everything...everything that they think is the only thing worth knowing about.

I laugh at the way they fall over each other drooling over Dumble and Train Wreck amps to the exclusion of almost everything else.

While these amps are truly fine amps, they are not the end-all, or be-all of amps, except to the forum members there. No one else is right about anything, nor does anyone else know anything if they don't fall in line with the thinking on that forum.

Too bad for them. They are like peacocks, with their tails in full bloom, strutting by each other, trying to be the bigger know-it-all or the most pompous.

I have a good mind to join a club, and beat them over the head with it.

This seems to be like HCAF, just leave them alone and let them do manlove to Engl Flowerballz in their bedroom.

And those who own Dumbles etc. - that just proves that they have money, nothing more. Not sying they dont know what they are talking about, but OWNING something doesnt make your ear better.

I agree with you. However, when they start bashing both Peter D. and Peter S., I cannot help myself. :gethim: I have the distinct feeling that those who may have contacted either or both Peter D and/or Peter S. were not pleasant to deal with and felt they should have had their ass kissed by Diezel Gmbh. I get the feeling just reading their posts that they are pompous, arrogant, and self-important.

Piss on them.

Really? You may want to do a factual background check before you moan about pompous, arrogant, and self-important people.

Were you there? Did you hear the conversation? Do you know me?

Seriously, if you can't take what's served up ignore it. You're not Diezel if I'm not mistaken. Let them worry about their business/customer practices. Do they look after your affairs unpaid?

For the record I've purchased many high end amps from both the US AND Europe with zero issues and again I hadn't experienced what went down in 2006 with the 2 Peters elsewhere before or since.

Enough said.

calm down! there's no need to start a war about amps.

some people like red, some don't. some feel comfortable in a yellow room, others think it's too coloured. some like fish, others hate it. some like jazz, others can't get a thing out of it. that's life. and that's the coolest about it: diversity. i'm sure there are hundreds or thousand of guitar player that don't like diezel amps. and that's ok. there are still enough that LOVE diezel amps and who will party the rest of their lives with their diezel amp(s)... as i probably will. and there are still thousand of people who actually buy amps or comdemn amps because of lo-fi videos in a lo-fi quality of youtube.

as for the "customer service": we are all human beings. peter too, though it often seems - regarding the brilliance of his amps - otherwise ;) it takes a lot hard work to get these amps built. there can be made a mistake or there can be a faulty component. there can be a rough transfer to usa, there can be a mean mailman. there can be bad mains in your house. you can't cover all. and out of hundreds there can be a faulty amp. this also is... life. get in contact and there will be a solution. talk and be friendly and respectful. give the people at diezel a chance to handle these things if they occur. there can be rough times for anyone.

This is what is sad about TGP, it was at one time a bunch of pros from the music industry posting what they know about gear, I am talking about engineers, producers and pro musicians posting their real life experience with a particular product. Now it has turned into every bedroom player is an expert so how dare you make a negative comment about his recent purchase or that guy with a entry level Crate has to defend his purchase then argue about it for three pages because someone talking about a Mark V in a high gain amp head thread made a negative comment about Crate amps.

Then someone uses the term "Pro-level" in refrence to gear and a argument ensues over that term because people with Epiphones and Line6 amps want to be considered "Pro-level" musicians too

Damn

Just leave it as is now

Go and enjoy youre playing guys.
There are so many factors that determan iff you will like a surtan amp.
I dont thick the Peters are liking these posts on there forum. Not everyone will like diezel amps, but dont forget all the others that like them.

Im lucky to have a diezel amp and enjoy the hell out of it as much as i can :D

I think the idea of this thread was to send us happy Diezel players over there to set them straight instead of letting them talk bad about Diezel because someone talked to one of the Peters for too long on the phone and they had a crappy dealer.
