Love mine. Have it dial in around 10:00 and it just kicks the amp in a way that is very musical and easy to play with.

I also have mine around 10:00. It is an amazing little preamp/booster but it's not right for every application. It fattens anything up after it so if you want to use it like an overdrive boosting a high gain amp to tighten it up, it's not going to make you happy. It's amazing in front of a good clean amp and breathes life into overdrive pedals. I like it hitting the front end of my Mark IV for leads. It kicks the high and low end and sustains forever. For crunchy or tight rhythm stuff, I prefer my Keeley ts9 or BB.

It works great with both my amps. It is not transparent, but I like the way it colors it.

It's an 'always on' pedal for me.

It's last on my pedalboard and just sweetens up the overall tone.

I like mine. Xotic stuff is pretty transparent but that wasn't what they were going for with the EP booster. You can put it in your loop or after you dirt pedals for more of a clean boost that doesn't color the tone as much. I have used it either way and liked the results. I am a fan of the RC, AC, and BB as well.

awesome pedal does nothing but to to all the amps ive tried it with..

I think the whole point of this pedal is not to be transparent? The Echoplex added a touch of drive and warmth to your tone and that is what a pedal emulating its preamp section should do too.

I really dig the Dunlop version of this pedal! Very warm and sweet.

This pedal was not designed to be transparent. It boosts, thickens, and sweetens up the sound.

With my Mark V, I always left it on at about 25%

With my 5150 III, I use it as a lead boost on Channel 2

This...added and changed the tone on some of my amps in an undesirable way, added bottom end and some top to me. I didn't dig it especially...

Don't get me wrong, I like the EP.
My biggest problem is that it changes your tone too
much when it is bypassed.
The MK.4.23 does also add some sparkle and warmth to your sound
when it is on, but the bypassed tone is as close to transparent as I've heard.
I think the MK.4.23 is just a better version of the EP.
If you like the EP, you'll LOVE the MK.4.23!

You are running everything into the front and it is last in the chain? Or you are meaning last in the chain going into the preamp and you have some other stuff in the loop?

I dig the EP but look at a TC spark or spark mini as well....

had one for a while , thought it was great with single coils but bit too thick for the humbucker guitars i had

i usually go for an eq pedal for clean boosts , always had best results with them
