It’s pretty cool though to see the craters on the moon through a $200 pair of binoculars.I saw it when I was closing up the chickens. I don't get super amazed by stuff like that but the moon was crisp and clearly visible last night. The UFO's out my north facing window are more exciting to me.
I spent many evenings and nights during the construction phase of this place with a cold beer and a good view of the moon over the back field. It’s pretty cool though to see the craters on the moon through a $200 pair of binoculars.
It’s much nicer out in the middle of nowhere isn’t it.I spent many evenings and nights during the construction phase of this place with a cold beer and a good view of the moon over the back field.
Well, I"m about 10 minutes from population almost 70k. I can see the bobcat stadium area from my porch. But I got just short of six acres so it's kinda like being in the country. I can still shoot deer and have fires and such. If I had my way I'd be truly rural, but I'd need some better work connections first, so I think that's my long game. It’s much nicer out in the middle of nowhere isn’t it.
It’s pretty dark where I am. It’s no Bruneau Dunes but there’s very little light pollution here.Well, I"m about 10 minutes from population almost 70k. I can see the bobcat stadium area from my porch. I got ten acres out in Terlingua I bought off ebay in 2008 or 9 JIC I needed a place to go to die. It's one of the best areas in the country for stars but I never make it out there cause it's such a haul. They have an observatory in Ft. Davis that would probably be cool to check out. It's not bad here for stars but Kyle went from 2000 people to over 50,000 in 20 years so the east view has really gone to crap the past few years. It’s pretty dark where I am. If a guy can just go somewhere without light pollution it's pretty killer even without an observatory. I'd def take advantage of that since it's gonna be so close to home. I'm kind of a believer in keeping dark skies for the enjoyment of all, though I don't think i'ts 100 percent practical for city areas. Least I got the neighbor to shut down his stadium lights....actually the power bill did that, lol.The local junior college on top of the hill from me has a brand new bad ass observatory that they open up to the public. I haven’t been yet but I will. The one in Bruneau Dunes Idaho is spectacular.
It was barely an eclipse, only notable because it happened during a harvest moon so it looked coolWhere are you guys? A lunar eclipse didn’t even make the news here in northern Indiana.
Wasn’t it also a super moon and a red moon ? It was kinda disappointing though, as I said.It was barely an eclipse, only notable because it happened during a harvest moon so it looked cool
It was visible from Ohio and Indiana. Assuming you could see the moon.Ohio - I didn't hear about it either. Which is a bummer - I would have taken some time to see it if I could have.
Central Texas.Where are you guys? A lunar eclipse didn’t even make the news here in northern Indiana.
That's just because the speed of light is slowing down.So the distant universe is expanding at above the speed of light.
Freaky.
