Hello all! Our drummer has a Squier Tele that he brought to our rehearsal space as I was going to try using for the one cover song that we do that uses a Capo, Bryan Adams - Run To You. My other guitarist adjusted the truss rod but it needs new strings, I have D'Addairo .009-.042 gauge strings I was going to put on it and the maple fretboard, which looks like it is unfinished, is pretty dirty so I was going to clean it up when doing string change here at my place.

I have some Gibson Luthier's Choice Fretboard Conditioner here, would that be safe to use or is that for Rosewood fingerboards only? I've been trying to read up on cleaning methods as I've read that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with some warm water and a soft cotton towel/rag works like "Magic" (on the really dirty unfinished maple necks and boards) but I've also read that just a cloth and some warm water to clean the fretboard too works good? What do you guys think?

Dude you need to drop your signature..... For real

I've found that Gorgomyte removes grime, AND polishes the frets nicely. It won't remove scratches, but they're smooth and shiny afterwards.

I’d just scrape the really bad grime with a guitar pick and then leave it be

I used oil soap on my Music Man Silhouette I had.

i think...thought...lemon oil, whilst a good cleaner will color/discolor maples....

it's been recommended to me to use either fret doctor, or 0000 steel wool.

A high quality Brazilian Lemon oil from Enviro Magic does not discolor the necks. I have been using it for many years on all my unfinished necks like EBMM axis and all my other oil finished necks for in between cleaning at string changes, apply it to the cloth then the neck, do not soak the neck down.

My main sealing finish is Birchwood Casey Gunstock oil followed with Gunstock wax just like EBMM recommeds for maintenance and care of the Axis necks.

Naptha with a rag will clean a maple board like magic. Ronsonol lighter fluid will work in a pinch, but it has extra additives. Your local hardware/tool store should have Naptha though.

To clean it, use rubbing alcohol, and a crappy towel to 1st rub off the grime. That will dry out the wood, so after you're done "Cleaning" the fretboard, then use mineral oil, or lemon oil (I dip my finger in the bottle and then run it up the fretboard so that there's a strip down the middle, then I rub it in w/ my finger and let it set for a few, then wipe off the access w/ a clean cloth and you're done). ;)
