I'm not much of a pedal guy, but I do like to run a little chorus with distrotion to fatten things up a bit. Have a digitech multivoice chorus (x series) that I have tried to use with the TourMaster and I hate it with this amp. I dont care if it is in front of, or in the loop in either series or parra it sound nasally - like crap.

Anyone try the MXR black label? What are you guys using?

I use a Boss Super Chorus... in the loop... sounds great to me...

You need my Boss CE-5! :D

It's a great pedal, I've had it for a llllloooonngggg time (about 14 years) and it's every bit as good as it was the day I bought it, just with more "character".

Not a proud Eggie owner (yet), but recently went through a whole slew of chorus pedals searching for one to meet my needs. I really needed a chorus with level control, eq/tone control, needed to sound good clean as well as with dirt and needed to have a non-tone-sucking bypass.

Here's what didn't make the cut:
Line6 M9 - really loved this pedal, but it didn't play well with my main distortions in front (Dr. Boogey and BSIAB II). Chorus sounded bad with distortion, but beautiful otherwise. Couldn't find a flanger or univibe sound on it that I liked, though.
Ibanez CS9 Chorus (vintage) - too much of a volume boost, and didn't sound good WITH distortion.
DigiTech CF-7 Chorus Factory - sounded good clean, not with distortion
DigiTech Hardwire CR-7 Chorus - didn't like not being able to change the EQ, kept hearing the 'swirl' of the chorus too prominently
MXR Black Label Chorus - knobs weren't that effective, sucked tone noticeably in bypass
Boss CE-2 - yes, the CE-2 didn't make the cut - a little too much midrange, didn't sound as nice with distortion and no eq control (I play humbucker guitars mainly and needed a little extra shine)

In the end, the Boss CE-20 Chorus Ensemble won out. Has the eq & level control I need, the 'standard' chorus meshes beautifully with my distortion pedals, the 'Dimension C' setting on 'depth 2' is my standard for clean chorus sounds now. It also has presets available, if I want a little something different. It's not boutique, but it's the only one 'velcro worthy' on Day 1, so that's saying something for what I was looking for.

Looks like I will be checking out the CE-20.

I should have known better from the get go about the Digitech Multivoice. I have never liked Digitech stuff, never. Always liked Boss. So now it gets added to the pile of unused pedals I have collected over the years....

Thanks for all the replies!!! Checked out everyones suggestions. I found the sound/sounds I had been looking for. I ended up with a CH-1 on the front end and a TC Electronics Nova Delay in the loop.

The Ch-1 is just enough to give me a nice fleshed out, lush, channels 3 & 4. The Nova Delay in the loop in parra through a TM 2x12 makes it sounds monsterous. I'm diggin the 9 user presets and the LCD readout for dialing in the numeric milisecs of delay. I really like the being able to hold down the tap button and chug the strings to set the delay time, instead of tapping in.

I took this setup to our local once a month Sunday jam yesterday. The guys where drooling. What really got them was when I flipped channels 3 & 4 from classic to modern and later engaged the contour on each channel. 6 different sounds from 2 channels. Someone needs to design a mod for this head that puts stomp switches on the floor to engage classic/modern and contour for at least channels 3 & 4.

Glad to hear it! Geez- The damn amp does enough, don't you think? How much can we ask out of things? Think of all you are getting for the price!

;) :D   :gethim:

4 channels with 3 modes per channel and if the modes had been footswitch controlled. I'd of crapped myself!!

As it is I still pissed my pants over the TM head! Its not bad having to push a button, contour, or flip a switch....BUT COME ON how slick would it have been to have these controlled from the floor!

Fulltone Choralflange - quite loopable w/output level and GREAT, transparent artifact-free chorusing (helluva flanger too if desired).
Can be switched true bypass or buffered - which is sooo good, betcha use the buffered setting for quieter switching.
