Hey Papa

I need your knowledge here. I want to revalve my herbert and I ain't sure what valves will be best. I am gonna put winged C EL34 in the power stage, however I dunno what will be best in the preamp stage. I noticed a UK company called watford valves are doing preamp kits for the herbie. Have you ever heard of this company and their preamp kits?

I have just used TAD 12ax7 before but wonder what you would recommend. What are you placing in the herberts as stock now? I want a great smooth high gain sound. Nothing too harsh.

Hope you can help papa

Thanks Darling :D

@Lame Guitarist: Where are You located ?
We can send tube sets in the EU.

A couple or quad of =C= 6550's are pretty sweet sounding in there along with a pair of EL34's.

JUST saying...

I thought the 6550's were unreliable in Herbies? or is that just talk?

You should use the Winged C 6550. They can handle it.
