I have been using the TOL for about 2 months live, really like it but need to brighten up channel 3 an 4. I cant dial enough treble in using my 80s LP custom to get much cut..Tone is killer but is getting lost in the mix.
Tube options maybe ? or external EQ pedal?
Any thoughts appreciated.

You could get some brighter preamp tubes for those 2 channels....Eurotubes, or Doug's Tubes can steer you in the right direction....a Boss EQ in the loop will definitely get you enough highs

thnks for advice, i switched the power tubes out with some from a friend and it helped a ton, maybe preamp will be next.

What speakers/cab are you running?

Speakers and cab will have the most effect on how well you sit in the mix.

Get the schematic from schematicheaven.com under the post 1970s amps. If other things like tubes, etc. don't do it....there is a capacitor (C18? .001u/1KV) across the plate resistor of TB4A. A smaller value part (try values between 680p and 250p-1kV min) will make 3/4 brighter. If you don't understand or don't feel comfortable soldering on the PC board, take it to an amp tech or a friend who knows how to do this. It's pretty easy.
