Tonex recommendations for newbie

Hey guys,
I just got one of those little tonex pedals and I'm leaning on using it for bass as I've been using the FM3 for guitar lately. But anyway I'm trying to figure out the operation of it today.

Any of you guys who use it have any tips or tricks?
 
Its pretty straightforward. It took minutes to figure out.
What takes time is finding what sound you want to use.
 
So it is pretty easy to capture your entire rig? FX—>Amp—>speaker cab—>mic? Run the 1/4” output to FOH or powered full range monitor?

I have some issues with connecting to tonenet with the vst but hopefully i can get it sortedI was planning on using it mainly for bass so last night I got some killer tones for bass that has sold me on this pedal. I haven't tried the guitar models yet but I was hoping to occasionally use this to scratch the new amp itch. I'm also curious to see how it does capturing drive pedals or fuzzes to be more specific. For some reason fuzz pedals always seem off where digital is concerned
