Tonstack differences in American/British modules and V1/V2

Assuming that in Blackface and some other American amps, the tonestack comes BEFORE the drive stage...

...and in British amps, the tonestack comes AFTER the drive stage.

Would that mean that the V1 and V2 positions, in a T/D module, are reversed, compared to an SL2?

OR... is V1 always your "1st gain stage/drive" position tube?

PS. If anyone can redirect me to that post with the link about tube order/tonestack order, that would be great...

Technically V! in a MOD50 is the 12AX7 inside the chassis closest to the input jack. The guitar signal goes into that tube first, then gts sent to the modules. In the T/D and the COD, the tone controls are the first thing in the signal path. On all others, tone controls are at the end.

Very interesting, thanks Bruce.

So would it be safe to assume that V1 in a COD is for the EQ section, and V2 is providing the drive? Or is this not correct?

Okay, I need a COD. :D

I thought you weren't a fan of pre-gain EQ? Or is that just on Boogies?

I think it's a design flaw for boogies to need the Bass on zero, but I still think it sounds cool.

I like all amps.
