Attempted a cover of this insanely hard solo. I improvised some random shred for the ending as I never took the time to decipher what he was playing exactly. Amp used is a Mesa MkII mic'ed with a Sennheiser E609 (speaker is Celestion 70/80 in old Mesa 2x12). Backing track is the original song with a bit of EQ'ing to make Marty's playing less audible.

Thanks for watching and please let me know what you think!

awesome! always loved that solo, especially the extended one from the live dvd...

Well done! Not easy to capture Marty's signature exotic bends and timing but you managed pretty well. I personally wish he would stop pretending that he needed/needs to "evolve" from Rust in Peace because that japanese pop shit is horrible and he ended up just doing shred anyway? Just go back and do another album with Mustaine. That's what we want to hear. His playing in context of a well written and crafted Mustaine song.

Thanks a lot for the kind words guys

As you said Kapo_Polenton, the timing and bends are very tricky on this solo. If you play too liberally on timing/bends the solo quickly loses the feel of the original record.

Agreed on his music nowadays... I think he really shines on these kind of songs (adding fantasy to Mustaine's songs). Reminds of Yngwie, both incredible players but that feel they are 'too' good to play anything else than what they have composed entirely themselves. I feel they would come up with much better music if they where challenged to write something for a specific purpose (ie. a song and band etc.) Too much freedom is not always good when it comes to creativity

I agree with you, though I'm really happy for Kiko as I have been a fan of his since 1998. With that said, he lives in Japan, has a tv show (or did) and is incredibly popular. He obviously makes a living and would have to give that up to be a sideman again (and get paid sideman wages).
