I just received my Torpedo CAB and I LOVE IT! Some people may flip this pedal because they don't go in depth with all the settings that are available in the pedal. I like to tweak around until I find something good. I've only played with this pedal for 2 hours, but here is my current favorite setting:

EL 34
Push Pull
Pentode
Amp Volume 20db
Presence 50%
Depth 100%
Voice 65 cab
Dynamic 57
Distance 10%
Center 10%

I love the Vox sound with EL84s or El34s, and this setting sounds just as good as my real amp. One thing I noticed that made a HUGE difference in tone is turning up the volume in the amp simulation. It gives you a much fuller sound when turned up just like a real amp. It seems like when I move the distance and center of the mic from 10% to 20%, it seems to only make a subtle difference, which is a good thing. For most settings, it seems like the distance and center sound better when closer to 0%. Anyone else care to share their preferred settings?

Another question I have is what do the Presence and Depth controls do? It seems like it makes the tone darker or brighter. Not sure what are the best optimal settings are for these two controls.

What are your favorite settings on your Torpedo CAB? What other cabs do you guys recommend? I'm used to only playing with a SM57 when playing live, so the Dynamic 57 works for me. Any other mics/mic settings would sound better than the 57?

Would love to hear other users feedback!

Presence is a bandwidth setting (from medium only to a more open sound), and Depths will play with the bass frequencies.

If Presence is to low, you won't here much of the depth action, that is normal. ;)

I let the other users share their settings, I tend to set presence to 100%, then depth to a value low enough so I don't get overwhelmed by bass frequencies. At some point I may lower the value of Presence, when I want to get a more vintage/narrow sound.

I'm using mine with an ISO line out off the speaker out so my presence and depth processing is already the way I want it. I always set my amps with the idea of how they're going to translate into a mic and mix anyway so I bypass the eq and power amp sims on the CAB and just go for the speaker/mic processing. The Feline, Prime A, and Kerozen cabs, all with the U87, relatively close and toward the center but not centered exactly, are my favorites so far. It really does sound like my amp miced in a room and more importantly, it feels like my amp. That's the reason I haven't jumped on the modeller bandwagon: I love my amp. Just wanted an easier, more consistent way to record it.

I use my CAB with various tube preamps (Egnater/Randall MTS versions of the Hiwatt DR-103, Orange OR120, Marshall Super Lead, Matchless Chieftain, Vox AC30TB, Fender Deluxe, and soon a Dumble ODS, plus a vintage Kittyhawk Quattro, all with a Axe FX Ultra for FX.

I rely on the CAB's tube power amp sims for everything power amp color-wise, either into gtr cabs via a solid state power amp without speaker/cab/mic sims, or DI'd/FRFR with them.

For all EQ is to taste.

I tend to run the tube power amp sim's Presence up around 95% to start, Depth to taste, and the tube power amp sim's Volume between 10 - 15 for clean/edge of breakup sounds, and from 15 to 25 for higher mid-gain and pushed mid-gain sounds (all with a good hot input level which is very important!). I don't do so called modern high-gain much, but when I need to I tend to be conservative with the tube power amp sim's Volume and try to get the drive mostly from the preamp.

I love the Torpedo's tube power amp sims, they're simply AWESOME (and easy to travel with too)! :D

For cabs it's always different depending on needs, but I run the Two Notes cabs along with some Own Hammer and Redwirez. In my rig the Axe FX Ultra also has IR based cab/mic sims, so I can run up to four cabs that way as well.

Love the T-CAB!
