What's the cleanest / highest quality output of the Torpedo Live? SPDIF or instrument cable? Or are they the same assuming quality cables are used?

Well, I would say it's always better to avoid a conversion (or 2, DA then AD in the sound card).
The signal feeding the S/PDIF out and the DA stage of the Live is the same, but I guess you will find people that prefer the Line output over the S/PDIF.
