Hi guys,
I'd like to mix (in parallel) the signal of my Torpedo (balanced out) with the rack FX I'm using at the moment (Korg DL8000R), going then straight to the studio monitors.
For this purpose I'm using right now a Mackie 1202 VLZ since there's not a lot of rack mixer on the market which give me the opportunity to have both returns from the FX rack and general out stereo AND balanced.
Any advice, as far as transparency is concerned, about upgrading the current mixer? ;)

Well, if you don't want to go into custom mixer design like I think Bob Bradshaw and some custom rack designer can achieve (maybe Friedman, I am not expert in this area), there is just a few high quality rack mixers. Like maybe the Neve summing mixer.

I think we have this question from time to time but I wasn't able to put the hand on a quality product designed for your application, maybe someone else on the forum can help?

Here's a great little box http://avensonaudio.com/blend/ even if you haven't heard of Brad it's quite probable you've already used something he's designed for a major manufacturer.

Thanks for the reply guys. The Avenson audio looks good but doesn't have all the features I need.
Maybe a Rane SM82 could fit the bill but who knows if it'sonically an upgrade in comparison with the Mackie VLZ (which is US made)...any idea?
