Hi there,

Got my Torpedo Live a couple of weeks ago and after some extensive testing I'm pulling the trigger on selling my V30 cabs. Well done!

There is one simple firmware feature I'm missing though which would make my life MUCH easier. I'd love to be able to mute digital output and line out independently via MIDI. I have a W/D/W rig with the Spdif running into an Eventide Eclipse and Lexicon while the line out stays dry. With this feature I could easily go Dry only or Wet only without using $200 midi switcher and doing a lot of programming on other units.

Pretty please include this in the next update! :-)

If I understand correctly, you would like to have 2 different Control Change commands to address a "Digital mute" and "analog mute".

That's pretty specific I must say. Right now our update queue is already quite full, but it doesn't hurt adding some new ideas. ;)

Thanks for a quick response Guillaume and thanks for such a great product!

Yes, your understanding is correct although there may be other options too (maybe just an option in the setup mode to set if the cc#21 should mute analog/digital/both to start with). I'm also looking forward to other features you have in the pipeline. It's encouraging to see the product is continually improving.

I read through the forum and the manual and I feel like you assume the digital output to be used mostly for recording. In fact it also works perfectly with most rack FX without going through unnecessary DA/AD conversion while giving you an option of leaving the analog ouput dry. It works perfectly in series and with features like this it would work well in the parallel set up. It's good to reach out to users who are now getting used to chaining 'the speaker' before the stereo FX or are confused about how to hook up their processors.

See if someone else chimes in to confirm if it's a good idea:-)

You're are right in the manual we focus on recording with S.PDIF, but as soon as the FX processor can be synced to the Torpedo it's way better to stay digital all the way.

I'm a strong advocate of putting some of the FX AFTER the miking, and I believe the Torpedo series products are perfect to achieve this. ;)
