Hello everybody,

i need some suggestion here with my torpedo live,

i'm planning to connect my torpedo live with a stereo rackmount eq such as dbx 215s eq, so i can get two outputs with different EQ settings. the problem is the output from torpedo live is mono, how do i connect this? shoud i get a line splitter before the eq? or is it enough by using a stereo to dual mono y cable, so i can feed both input of the EQ,

please let me know your thoughts,

thanks

Running a "y" cable from the output to both sides of the eq shouldn't be a problem as there is sufficient signal level available. I'd be curious to understand what is your application? Perhaps 1 eq to FOH and the other to IEM?

Another way to do this would be to use a digital f/x processor as a stereo eq and take the spdif out from the Torpedo. If you are using the eq's to create a stereo effect, perhaps using a f/x processor in this manner will give you more versatility and the ability to store settings etc.

Just a note regarding the "y" cable, if you use a trs insert cable, you will get signal on both 1/4" TS wires but they will be out of phase with each other. Some IEM's have a phase switch. If so, that would be a viable way to go at the least cost.

Thank you Andy,
I didn't see this message and answer to Fatwerk's private message. luckily I told him more or less the same thing. ;)

He will use a balanced jack to 2 X unbalanced jack to go to both input on the DBX.
