I have had several people asking me about my Tourmaster 4100 settings that I am using. thanks to the post of the blank faceplate sheet I drew out a quick layout of my settings.

I will answer the question I get about the power amp section now because I get grief about this for some reason.    Yes I turn the master volume all the way up to 10 and then use my channel volumes to control the overall volume. there is a mean but warm thing that happens when you hit those power tubes with all she has.

I have ran all master volume amps I have ever owned this way and the tone is just "SICK N THICK" yet people ask me why I do that all the time. Also per a little tip in the manual I run the clean channel 1 with the volume way up around 3/4 of full and use the gain to control the volume. I never get the gain much higher than 1 o'clock and talk about a creamy clean.

I run this monster in 10 watt mode for everything because you can keep volumes to a better level and have a huge thick sound. I did test these settings in 50 watt and 100 watt modes and I would maybe change a little EQ on the overdrive 2 and clean 1 channels if I ran her in 100 watt mode. Only because of personal taste at the higher volume you run them at in 100 watt mode.

All in all these are the settings I am happiest with so far. The overdrive 1 was nailing Ratt, Dokken, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden and then I adjusted the gain down just a tad and rolled out some Van Halen and Sammy Hagar stuff. It all sounded pretty close so I was a happy camper after only a month of owning this to have it be my switchblade amp that does it all.

Have fun playing around with these settings. By the way I circled all the contour buttons to show that I have them all engaged. Just what my ears tend to like for my bands style.

I do the same thing w/ my VHT 2/90/2. The master volumes on those are at 10/10. I have my Lexicon MPXG2's post volume (basically a volume right before it's output) and use that to set my overall level. Do the same exact thing w/ my Mod50, as I have a second MPXG2 for that rig :).

It has worked for me for years. :)

Oh, and you need to get an Egnater M4, and then you'll be like...holy shit...I have SOOOO many sounds!! You wouldn't need any other amps in your studio!

Eric don't tempt me man.    I already have that or a Mod 50 in the works come about June or so. I am going to be loaning the Tourmaster to people in the studio a ton. I will have some sample clips up before this weekend is over of the first band I loaned it to in the studio.

I already have people saving up to buy a tourmaster after playing through and recording with mine. I knew if I loaned it out in my studio people would say it blows their stuff away. The mod 50 will have them creaming themselves once I get that puppy.

I really like that if they use it, I am sending out masters of tones nobody is getting in the Illinois area from their studios. That should have the bands calling to find out what I am doing. I will be able to tell them just come record with me and I will loan you an amp that will give you that and then some.

I hope Bruce has a plan to keep the Guitar Center here in Peoria loaded with these heads because the tone is going to have people thinking different about the amps they are playing.   It sure has for me. I will never use anything but Eggie's ever again.

By the way Eric I can tell you dime the master on your recordings because there is what I call a big roundness to the dirty stuff that I know can only come from the master dimed. Your tones are just freaking thick and mean but have that well rounded punch that the power tubes give when hit hard.

Probably why I love the tones your getting so much. Power tube overdrive just adds a sweet thing to my ears.
