... and then report back with vids!
I sold my DSL50 and maybe even my Shiva (waiting to hear back on that one.) So I'm on the hunt for two heads. Thinking about a single channel Splawn for the '80s hard rock tones and a Tourmaster for more of a "boutique'ish" do-it-all amp.
There's a chance I'll leave here in a few minutes to get that one I played on yesterday, so I can use it at a gig tonight. I can always return it if it doesn't work out.
Also, at least one of the local Guitar Centers has $200 off the head this weekend only. Maybe they're all doing that? Probably... So that's $1,299.
Chris you Rock bro!!!Glad you're stickin around!!!SgtThump":22nr1dj3 said:Just got home with it. Now to fire it up!

I just took the Randall emblems off of them since we are no longer endorsed by them and are switching over to all Eggie gear. Just in case anyone wondered what speakers I was using.
evink1":238yy1i9 said:Eric they are using the Celestion G12 Centuries in the cabinets. Something that Randall is not offering in the NXT cabinets anymore last time I looked. Heard it was due to cost. They list out at celestion for like 390 bucks a speaker. Last I checked Mucisians Friend sold them in the 260 to 290 dollar range depending on sales. Now I know why the cabinets are freaking 1400 bucks a pop.
Boy are they light weight though and I like that with giging out all the time.
Call me lazy if you must.

We should do a "tone party" sometime. I've got like 15 speakers...a mod50 and a m4 ...and i'd like to jam on your G12c's .

There will be a hand built Lancaster amp there maybe two Lancasters total, a couple Splawn's each in a different variant, a voodoo custom build, a Hughes and Kettner triamp, some Fender Metal head that I can't remember the model of, a boogie mark III or IV can't remember for sure and of course my new Eggie.
There will be 3 or 4 of our NXT cabinets, avatar cabinets, marshall cabinets, and a couple voodoo cabinets. Should be about 5 to 8 people from around here for sure who want to test all of this stuff out. This will be the second tone party we have held at my recording studio.
Once I get an official date we are going to do this I will let you all know. We usually have tables set up with food and soda and just have a great day of jamming and cranking amps up. Look forward to some of you being able to make it to this for sure.
I didn't realize you're in Peoria. We're actually having an Ampfest this upcoming Saturday in Waterloo, Illinois. What is that a 3 hour drive for you or something? You're more than welcome to come down if you get the chance. Late notice, I know.
