1. can the effects loop be used as a boost if I jump the send and return jacks...would it be parrallel or series...can it damadge anything.

2. will I extend power tube life if I run at 50watts on the power grid.

3. can I hook up 2 4x12 cabs at 4 ohms each ..they are mashall cabs and are selectable,
I can switch them to 4 ohms mono, 16 ohms mono or 8 ohms stereo.

4. If I only use 1 cab, what the best ohms to set it to.

I just got this amp, sorry for all the ???'s but I'll get better as time goes by
thanks Michael.

1...yes you could...It can be either parallel or series,,,,could you damage it??...don't know..could sound weird also...best to just buy a boost pedal and run it out front
2..Running 50 watts only has 2 6L6's working...the outer 2 are off
3...run the cabs at 16 ohms..set the impedance to 8 ohms.......2, 4 ohm cabs is 2 ohms.....no good..
4....whatever sounds best...some like the sound of 4 ohms, others, 16

thanks a bunch...by the way, I'm still teakin the sound and all of a sudden the 2 clean channels went out (no volume) I called the support #..they said to check out the tubes...turned out to be a bad tube in v1 ...suprised to see this in a brand new amp.

It's not the "amp" but the poor quality of tubes these days. It's just the nature of the beast man. Pick up several pre's and just have fun swapping them out. Chinese and Tung Sol are two of my favorite for Eggie stuff.

The support guys should send you new one's if in fact the amp is new. I think there is a 90 day warranty for the tubes...........for this exact reason!!

I've had the tubes fritz on mine once or twice. Contact Egnater- If you bought it new and the tubes went out in under 90 days they will replace them for free. They did it for me.

I had a few 12ax7's laying around...I don't want to bother them for an 8.00 tube..

Maybe I should replace all the preamp tubes...like the mobster in Casino said "Why take a chance?"

Why? That seems silly to me. They warranty it; It isn't a problem for them. If their tube blew out, why should you pay? They were happy to do it for me.

I e-mailed egnater support and got a reply from Nate ..he was cool about it, I e-mailed him a copy of my receipt and he's
gonna send me some tubes....not too shaby in my opinion.
