I've seen/heard videos of the Tourmaster's clean, hard rock and metal sounds, but how does it fare for lower/medium gain Marshall, midrangey classic rock sounds?
And which channel handles it well? Clean 2 with the gain cranked?

I'm talking about early ZZ Top, early AC/DC, the Cult's 'Electric', etc.

abSOLUTELY.

OD1, vintage gain setting, mids cranked between 2oclock+, bass and treble at 12, contour disengaged. lowest power setting in full or half... STUNNING.

try a mullard cv4024 in V1 or V3, and you'll really be hearing those overtones.

Yep, it will be great for that.

I've heard more than one studio owner say that they keep a Tourmaster there at all times because it can cover so much tonal ground. It's on a lot more recordings than you might suspect.
