Like many others on this forum my Tourmaster head has failed. I bought my TM 4100 in December of 2007 as part of the initial batch. I loved the sound of the head and the versatility. One year ago the reverb failed and now one month ago the power tranny has failed. I simply tried to turn the amp on and NOTHING. I took the amp to my tech and he confirmed the bad news. The power tranny needs to be replaced. The tech called Egnater and they will not replace the transformer as the warrenty expired in 2009. My issue is that the company (including Bruce himself) knows that this has been a constant issue with the first run of these amps (my head was bought brand new in 2007 and doesn't have the M in the serial number).

Egnater will not make good on its product and I don't know what to do. The transformer is very expensive and after what it would cost to pay my tech to install we are looking at about the value of the amp in the used market.

What should I do? I don't want to "total" the amp but I don't seem to have a choice. Egnater isn't responding...

I know a few of you have been through this same mess. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Chase

Mine failed and they replaced it with no problems. I shipped them the bad tranny and they mailed me a new one. I contacted Bruce directly and he told me who to contact. Not sure if you tried that yet.

Roszatycki,

Thank you. Did you contact Bruce via PM or email?

Honestly, I can't recall. Bruce has his email and contact info all over this board so you should be able to find it. I think he had me call Nate which did take a few attempts to get him moving. However, I think I shipped it to California and they sent me a replacement. That was probably 3 years ago. Not sure what they are doing these days but with the high failure rate I would hope they accommodate you.
