i took some pics of my tone settings.

1. would be the "clean boost" trick that gives you a channel boost. To "stage mute" just turn both levels down.

2. the power grid settings i use. i go back and forth a LOT on the full power/50 watt setting for OD1, as it really growls, but can get quite loud like that, so i usually tame it down at home (half powerat night :( ). actually, im constantly reaching behind this amp to switch on the fly. to be perfectly honest, i love EVERY tone of this amp, in EVERY power grid setting.

3. Master Volume. Reverb. Presence. Resonance.

4. Clean 1 and 2 (both contours in, but i go back and forth a LOT on the fly as needed on both channels. REALLY wish that contour button were footswitchable per channel, and i just may figure out a mod to do it)

5. OD 1 and 2 (both contours in currently, but pending guitar)

Interesting that all the knobs and switches on the combo are reversed/backwards from what is on the head.

That's because the amp is flipped inside the combo. I wish they would adjust the manual for that. I do like some of the settings in there, but it drives me nuts having to reverse them!

:) ;) :D    :( :scared:   :gethim:

Hey Len, remember the post below!!! you can just make your own "tone" charts buddy!!

i transferred over the manual settings to one of those sheets so i dont have to keep transposing.

Thanks, these pictures are really helpful! I'm going to experiment myself.

How have you found Presence and Density to help (or hurt) your tone?

The manual seems to be overly-cautious...

"At low volumes, fullness and clarity are enhanced. Be forewarned, these powerful controls should be used sparingly at higher volumes. If overused, the sound can get muddy and cause excessive
speaker breakup or sound brittle and overly bright. Tighter, punchier bass will be achieved with the lowest possible settings of the DENSITY control."

Makes me wonder about the functionality of these controls.

They are subtle. I agree- Less is better of those when cranked. Remember: The sound that is aiming at your legs is different than the one the audience is hearing.

glad to be of service. i've found in the past month or so, that there isn't a ton of info on these amps on the web.
i made some soundclips, but they won't upload to my computer.

the pres and res- they help. even when cranked. i keep the presense around 5oclock-the sweet spot i have found for it where it isn't really fizzy, and is just about to get fizzy.

the resonance, changes from guitar to guitar, and im sure would change from room to room as well as the treble on each channel.
i have my combo on one of my 4x12's, and would run it that way live too.
