Just a demo track. I quite like how it turned out, considering there wasn't much time put into it. I originally produced, engineered and mixed this a while back, and they sent it to a guy in Nashville so he could try his hand at it. Turned out pretty good, but it wasn't what they were looking for. I remixed this for them for the hell of it.

The comments on the track are for the band members to reference to.

Line 6 Pod farm and a LOT of post-processing. They tracked the guitars on their own time. I cannot for the life of me remember what the bass was. Drums are real with a stacked kick and stacked snare. Vocals were a Neumann TLM103 through a UA LA2A and a Neve Portico 5012 preamp. Backing vocals were done with the same chain, but I (yes, I sang the harmonies, and I hate how they sound haha) used an SM7b instead.

This was a down-and-dirty demo for these guys. They're really new, and couldn't justify spending a shitload of money on a 2 song handout. Tried to get them the best product I could. Definitely better than a new band's usual first demo.

yeah, it rocks dude. I don't really have much to say, perhaps a tad more verb on the vocals, but really not even sure about that

These guys have a shitload of potential once they fall into their own. The drummer is a creative monster behind that kit, and one of the tightest I've had the pleasure to work with.

I went for a fairly dry vocal on this one, since they are tuned so damn low, it's easy to lose control of the mix.

Yeah, it all sounds super great, the only thing I was just wondering if a tad more wet verb might tuck the vocals in the mix just a tad, but maybe not. I don't mind dryer vocals

I may go back and revisit the vocals. They're not quite as silky as I'd like, and they do stick out a tad. I have trouble leaving things as they are.

Yeah, I honestly think some more verb might make them more silkier and blend in the mix a bit better. sometimes you have to add more then you think in order for it to show up. Or else drop them down a db or so. very very fine tuning. Though I am also not scared of dryer vocals, really depends on the song, this one I think I would drop a bit more verb to help blend them in. If its getting lost, perhaps play with the pre delay a bit. The performances are awesome, as is the song, guitar work, structure. Its solid. I also thought the vocals stuck out just a tiny tiny bit more then I personally would of mixed, but really that is all small nit picky stuff and we all hear / do things slightly different.

on a side note, I think you will be a very good producer that will get some top notch stuff out there if you keep at it bro

It sounds very good. Good job. I would low pass the guitar tracks just a tad.

High-passed at 110hz and low passed at 12khz.

Thanks for the comments guys!
