Good day,

I am strongly considering trading my Bogner Duende 112 for a Swart AST PRO.

I love my Bogner, but I always look for new sounds.

I know this is the Bogner forum, but do you think that this trade is worth it both financially and tone-wise?

Thank you!!

New cash prices are almost identical, however nobody can tell you which is better for you than of course yourself. I know nothing of the Swart amp, I also am partial to the Bogner voicing.

Thanks for your comment. I guess the problem is that I have never played a Swart AST Pro. Man, I guess those sexy photos of the AST Pro are becoming too much.

The more I think about it, the more really question this. I too like the vocing of the Duende. I can throw my Tele, Les Paul, Strat, or Gretsch at it, and I can translate the tone in my head to the speaker.

(I may have just convinced myself to keep my beloved Bog!

Seems like 2 totally different beasts. Swart is along the lines of a vintage tweed deluxe vibe. No master single channel. Just vol and tone.
Duende is, can be, much higher gain, clean channel, both have rev and trem.
Bogner is much more versitile with a two foot switchable channels.

Sound, well you would have to play both to see which you liked better.

I would keep the Bogner and save up for the Swart. You may like it now but who's to say in six months or so you get the jones for a Duende and it's GONE. What do you get from the Swart that the big "D" wont do?

I want to thank all of you for your comments. It has made me really think about this without the major GAS Involved.

I think the poster above is right. I may like the Swart for six months, but I will want the Duende back and, with three kids, it would be very difficult to get another one.

Keeping the Duende!

When I get back home from too much travel, I am going to plug in and fall in love with it all over again.

Thanks again for allowing me to think about this in a reasoned fashion!
