Don't expect too much from my playing, this is from the 3rd set (after too many beers) and was the 2nd time we've played the song live and the fourth time we've played it.

I really dig it. Boosts for leads were from a modded box I built with two huge resistors and a relay. amp was cranked otherwise, into a Fender closed back 1x12 with a celestion GT75. It actually wasn't super loud onstage, and worked pretty well.

Sounds good! Elaborate more on this magic box please.

I built it in a fx pedal box. Going to get 50w resistors though, as it got pretty hot. Works great though, and doesn't mess with the tone too badly.

Pete,
are they going from the amp to the speaker cab and you are just loading down the amp?

yep, speaker out from amp to box to cab. It's an L-pad, or voltage divider attenuator. Since it's fixed to one value, and my amp isn't really that high wattage (it's around 30 watts or so) it works well. I used a high power relay to switch - it's really fast too, so I don't think I'm hurting anything. *crosses fingers*.

I don't think that you are hurting anything at all if your o/p transformer is built like a tank. I think the reason why people used to run into problems is because the transformers were built like crap. My merc transformer in my metro amp can handle even the harshest attenuation whereas I would blow up my old 70's transformer if I even looked at it funny lol![]()
stratotone":a5f85 said:This is going to sound wasteful, but it's the transformer that came with the ceriatone kit, so while it would be a bummer if it blew, it's not like I'm blowing a mercury or a heyboer or pacific.![]()
