MURDERATOR
sometimes when I turn on the reverb it get "hollow" sounding and seems to lose volume. Just really weird. Turn the reverb off and it sounds normal again. Any ideas? Not a big deal because I don't like the verb or trem so they never get used. Thanks!

Make sure the direct-mix level is turned down to 0 (100% wet) in the FX loop brother.

Sounds like you've got the direct signal in the 'verb phase-cancelling with the amp signal when it's mixed back in.

I think it might have a tube driven reverb. Might switch around a few tubes and see what it does.
Also clean the reverb jacks and ends if you have it off.

Hopefully it is something simple.

that didn't work....bummer....

Oh well, it was a shot in the dark based on common sense brother.

I've no idea how the 'verb works on those things but for sure any time your signal goes through a loop and the dry component gets mixed back in, there's potential for phase cancellation due to the tiny signal delay imposed by most processing.

That's why I always recommend setting such things to 100% wet.

it did work bro! my bad....had it ass backwards...

lol...this happened to me once, since I never used the verb, never noticed it, until one day I was selling the head and the buyer backed out as the verb wasn't working!

A-ha! Awesome brudda.

I wasn't going to respond initially but phase cancellation via mixing the dry component of a 'verb effect back in with the original is definitely a thing, so I thought, "what the heck?"

Same thing even happens with plugins, or at least it used to before automatic delay compensation became a thing (built into DAWs now).
