You'll probably run into impedance issues and a lot of other problems that lead to damage to your gear. I wouldn't risk it.

I mean, it is possible and people have done it. Not sure it will be worth it. I do not believe you would need mod for manual bias adjustment. You DO need to make sure you pull the correct pairs of power tubes. You will need to pull 1 rectifier tube as well. You MAY need to drop your impendence in half but you wouldn't want to go lower than 4 ohms. If this is a Multi-Watt version I believe you can lower wattage without removing tubes?

^ I did that. It didn't help manage the volume or sound any better or worse. Still good to know in case you have a bad tube. Pull the pair, change impedance and keep rocking.

Yep. I didn't do it (to my Splawn / not Rectos) to reduce volume, I did it to save on tubes basically.
