Always wanted to try a guitar with true temperament frets. Some kind of combination of true temperament and a conservative multiscale (26.5"-25.5") would be cool, although I havn't seen any made that way yet.

My buddy made dozens of TT basses and guitars a few years back.

I managed to convince him since then that properly-set-up-and-played (think bending with a good ear) geetars needn't sound out-of-tune.

I also feel that some of the soul is lost 'cause the intonation inconsistencies of "normal" fretboards are a part of what gives a guitar and guitars in general their unique character/s.

I can get why it might sound 'more correct' for chording, but I always wonder how it sounds when bending notes with these frets, do you need to compensate by bending less/more?

Is there even a point when the other guitar and bass are non-TT?
Vai used these for a few years then switched back.

I'd love to try one; my ears are stupid sensitive to intonation

I think it’d be cool to try out, but ultimately if it were THAT huge of an improvement, there’d be a lot more of them out there.

The Vai thing is a good point as well; he was using it for like 2-3 years then just said “Fuck it”. There hasn’t been any word why, but obviously the tuning issues he dealt with previously weren’t that severe. He did the same thing with Buzz Feiten tuning as well. He actually said back then, of the Feiten tuning, that he was going to have it done to the entire JEM line but that never came to fruition.

I can only think how bad frets like that would F$%*K me up................ sorry gents... if my intonation is never 100% perfect I'm going to have to live with it............................................................:D:bash:

I've seen these before. Never really understood the concept behind this. I think it would bug me out a little playing this just because its not straight.

I think most players, when they've been playing long enough to get decent...

instinctively pull notes sharp in diads/cowboy chords/single notes to make this a non-issue.
