I made the mistake of buying a Diezel/Salwender 4X12 with the eminence speakers and its just not cutting it. I then bought 4 brand new speakers (Vintage Celestion 30 and 2 G12K-100) and the sound still sucks! So now, I'm looking for a cab to put the new speakers into that can handle the Diezel. I had a buddy I jammed with yesterday that let me play through his Randall Warhead cab and I fell in love with my amp all over again.

Does anyone have any idea's or looking to sell a cab without the speakers?

you can buy a mills acoustics cab unloaded....they come with that speaker blend so I'm sure it'll be a great match.

Tough spot to be in. Maybe check out Fryette cabs, Mills Acoustics, or the like. If I were in your position, I'd try to flog everything I have and top up the funds to buy an actual Diezel 4x12, they're just perfect for the heads and overbuilt like nobody's business.

2 cents,
V.

I agree, I would love to get the Diezel Cab too.... I wonder if I can find a dealer that will sell me just the cab without the speakers....

I just checked out the Mills cabinets. I can buy them without the speakers. Has anyone else tried these cabs? I would just hate to make the same mistake again.

Thanks Spewnz.

Check out Erock503's videos on YouTube (try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6KiSSLwM68). He demo's all sorts of hi-gain amps and prefers the Mills cabs. Here is a quote from one of his videos when asked about the cabs:

Hey bro, just IMO, but I think the Mills cabs are the best on the planet. They match up great with the Diezel heads, huge tight and percussive, tons of projection, and they don't harsh out like some cabs. I can't say enough how happy I am with these cabs. If it tells you anything, I'm actually ordering 2 more in the next couple months.

is your cab Front Loaded or Rear Loaded? I know the RL cabs dont particularly like the K100s...dunno why...just what my ears told me.

and i had the older Diezel cab with my Herbie for years. Had zero issues... they arent the new Diezel cabs but were just as good if not better than 98% of the cabs out there.

His cab is front loaded I believe. I agree with Pauly. Rear load and the k-100's didnt mix to me either. I think the mills are all rear loaded, but I've never heard one with a diezel or with k-100s.

Thanks for the video's of the Mills cabs. My Diezel cab it front loaded, but when it doesn't sound up to par. In fact I played a Mesa Boogie next to it and it sounded better if that gives you any indication.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I should have read the post before I sent it..

ugh!!

just a thought...see if the cab is wired correctly. If its outta phase the cab will sound like dill. I have had a few come wired outta phase...and was ready to ditch them til i rewired. Check that out.

it should easily smoke a Boogie cab...IMHO

Yeah, what he said. I played a front loaded pignose Diezel cab but it doesn't sound up to par. A boggie or birdy at best if that indicates any type of source next to it.

Adrian you can try to PM Brad "King Guitar". He's a diezel dealer and might be able to sell you an empty cab.

sounds like you should check the wiring for phase, and then pound the living shit out of your speakers.

seems like maybe your speakers just aren't broken in?

This. Those FL salwendar cabs are nice cabs (as are the rear loaded ones). Especially with v30s. They were made by the same company that does the bogner cabs.

That being said, I've yet to hear a better cab than a Mills when using Diezels. I haven't heard the newer German Diezel cabs though - but I can't imagine it being any better.

I've been through a few cabs with the Diezels....

If the wiring checks out why not ditch the G12's and see if the V30's do it for you. I'd bet the Mesa was all V30's.
If not, you're going to have to drag your Diezel to as many friends or music stores as possible to find the cab/speaker combo you like. I like the G12 Century Speakers but they're not something to buy and see if you like at $285 each.
