After seeing a couple of warnings on tube distributor websites for using these tubes in most non-tube rectifier amps because of their operating voltage, I wanted to check with you guys and find out if it's ok to install the Tung Sol 5881's in my Mod100 head?

Are there any special bias values for the Tung Sols opposed to other 5881's?

Also when mixing tubes in the Mod100 do you mix either the outer two from the inner two of the quad or are you able to run for example one 5881 and three el34's?

I know lots of questions.................any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

Thank you EWSEthan......

I'm assuming there is no tube rectifier in the Mod50 and the tubes operate at the same voltage as in the Mod100........?

I checked my MOD 50 manual and it doesnt say. But Im 99% certain you are correct and that its a solid state rectifier.

Go for the TS 5881s. You will love them.

If there were a traditional tube rectifier in there, they are doing a damn good job of hiding it!
