Anyone here have one or play one?
Good..........bad?

;)

I had one. Took over a month to get when it was supposedly "ready to ship" and it did not come as I ordered it. Got it from eBay firectly from TTM. When I got it, it was actually decent for what it was, stayed in tune RIDICULOUSLY well even though it was a fake (licensed) Floyd. Tonewise it was as good as an average guitar sounds on the cheaper end, definitely not horrible, but not good either. The pups were as much as you could expect for cheapies and were harsh on the top end. The spring cavity also had some wood damage like something popped out of it lol. The neck is fat like a Gibson, I personally hated the feel.

Overall I would say it was about a 4/10, but I think an LTD is far superior. Shit, you could find an older guitar on the bay like a Charvel or something that is far better and probably cheaper, unless there is a TTM you are looking at that is used.

I meet the rep for ttm guitars and he was a pretty straight up guy and he said when he gets them they usually need a bit of work to play decent. Some of the guitars have really warped necks that he has scrap and use the guitar for a parts. Too many other great low prices guitars to choose from, I would run unless you can play it first.

I actually bought a nice looking flamed maple top TTM Devastator off Ebay. After I hit the BIN button I started doing some research(backwards I know) But I figured for the $400 a custom built in the USA guitar I could not go wrong. What I read was that these are parts sourced from overseas and assembled here by a company whose 'shop' was basically rented office space. I believe it was on sevenstring.org that some guys posted some pics of a guitar that they had taken apart that was just a horror show. Amatuer routing job and messy wiring. I backed out of the auction and never paid because they advertised it as US made and I don't think it was.
I talked about TTM with Stacey Blades from LA Guns who had a signature model. I saw him playing one at a local gig and asked him about it.He said they were great but I imagine he got the good ones. Everyone says you need a fret job to even play these things. BTW TTM stands for Taller Than Midgets. WTF?

$200 isnt too bad......
I like the graphic on it too. ;)

Was going to swap the pickup out and get a real FLOYD in it.........

What ya all think?
I see it as starting at $0.99, relisted?

If you get it cheap, what the hell, right?

The only ones that are USA made are the ones you get from them custom, and they are $1000+. The one I had played fine, the frets were not bad at all.

Item is in China. :scared: That neck joint is a joke.If you don't play above the 12 fret It may be OK. Graphic is kinda cheesey IMO. Theres a guy on HC who is a dealer and always pushing them.
If I had $400 to spend on a guitar I'd buy a Gary Kramer Crusader or Custom. Resale on that TTM will be 0.0 ;)

I bought a quilted on back over a year ago for like 650, resold it for 600 shipped like a month or two ago. There are some strange die-hard TTMers out there, and some people just like cheaper guitars or trying them.

I see all these posts are some odd number of years old. Let it be known that during this time period TTM was owned by someone other than the original owner/founder Lance Benedict. This guy that Lance sold the company to was a bit of a douche.
Lance has since taken the company back. All TTM guitars are now 100% made in the USA using the finest materials and hardware available. They are REAL quality instruments now. I can attest to this because I own and play a TTM Devastator daily. I've posted a picture of it below.
Just take a look at the line up of artists playing TTMs now and what they are saying about them. Check them out at their website. You can also find them on Facebook & Twitter.
No bullshit here, TTM is making some of the finest quality guitars you'll find anywhere for any price.

Fuckin junk... imported parts cobbled together in rented office space in CA and called made in USA.

I played one a couple of years ago, as well as one of their artist ones when it was delivered for a DVD shoot (the day of the show lol). It needed a little set-up out of the box.. I graphited the nut, and it stayed in tune very well.
Their stuff was "meh" at best, but the current owner is a standup guy. They are currently switching to USA production.
